Fast Weight Loss Tips For The Rest Of Us

by hank on September 17, 2010

I think it’s safe to say that almost all of us at one time or another in our lives think we need to lose a few pounds or get in better shape. It’s very easy to gain weight these days with our large food portions, greasy fast food and complete lack of exercise. So what can we do about it? Well all of us are different, we have different shapes and sizes, different body types and different chemical make up so there is no one answer for everyone, but here are a few tips that will help you succeed with your weight loss goals.

Find the right nutrition for your body. Did you ever know someone who could eat seven slices of pizza and a box of Twinkies and never gain any weight? It’s annoying, especially for folks like me who gain five pounds just walking by a bakery, but it just goes to show you that you need to know what works for your metabolism.

Proper nutrition can be a simple fix, like eating more vegetables or drinking less soda, or it can be a more extreme change by using a prepackaged diet like Medifast. I know personally I hate to figure out what foods to eat on a diet so having meals designed for me is great, I just grab and go. On the downside though, prepackaged meals aren’t the best tasting and can be expensive (even with Medifast coupons to get a few dollars off) so if you can do your own meal preparation it would be better.

Another problem that many of us have is a total lack of exercise. I work a desk job and as a result I sit around all day and when I get home I don’t feel like exercising and I just sit in front of the TV. This is one of the worst things you can do. Your body needs exercise and when it doesn’t get it you feel lousy and have no energy. I realize that going to the gym isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so try and figure out exercises that are fun. Playing basketball, going on a hike or taking your dog on a walk all qualify and are great ways to get exercise without feeling like you are working out.

Bottom line, weight loss doesn’t have to be hard. Usually small, simple changes can make a world of difference and help you slim down to your ideal size. Once you find success you will be happier and motivated and your results will continue to snowball. Good luck and stick with it, you have every reason in the world to do so.
